About Glendale Arts Council
Our Vision
62 Years of Art
Art and artists are vital to the well-being and beauty of our community. To that end, the Glendale Arts Council, founded by members of the Glendale Womens Club in 1963, supports multiple local art events and associations. While early shows made do by stringing art from clothesline in the park around the Velma Teague Library, eventually, the exhibit moved to the Glendale City Hall. Later, as the show grew, the Arts Council lobbied for the remodeling of the Saguaro Ranch Fruit Packing Shed as a permanent location for our annual exhibit.
Our Programs
The Glendale Arts Council provides financial backing to multiple local art events and associations. Some past beneficiaries include the Glendale Union High School District Art Show, the Glendale Elementary District Art Festival, the Arizona Art Alliance, the Arizona Artist Guild, Arizona Broadway Theatre, the Arizona Watercolor Association, the Glendale YMCA, the Historic Downtown Merchants Association, and arts scholarships at Glendale Community College.
Our Impact
Since our founding, we have made a significant impact in our community. We have provided opportunities for artists to exhibit their work, connected artists with each other, and brought the arts to underserved communities.
Our Location
The exhibit is in the Fruit Packing Gallery and is most easily reached from the Mountain View Rd. entrance to Saguaro Ranch Park from 59th Ave.
